  2. Live in South Florida – There are more than one time of year that orange trees bloom. Various varieties ripen during the year. The two major harvesting periods are November thru February for fresh fruit (Naval). Juice fruit (like Valencias) ripen March thru June. Naval oranges are typical in bloom 9 to 12 months prior to harvest. Valencias take 12 to 15 months; it’s not unusual to see a ripe crop on this variety at the same time they’re in bloom. A stroll through a blooming orange grove with your love interest is a romantic affair.
